History of the 1955 Chevrolet Pickup
Chevrolet Task Forceis the successor to the venerable Advance Design trucks, the Task Force Seriesran from late 1955 (second series) through 1959.
1955 was the firstyear for the new body style. It had a new "wrap-around" windshield (atruck industry first) and optional wrap-around rear window on Deluxe cabs.Power steering and power brakes were now available for the first time on GM trucks.Electrical system was upgraded to 12 volts. Fenders had single headlights.
