1970 Ford Mustang Mach-1 “Q” Code - 428 CJ

The Ford Mustang is considered by many one of the most iconic cars ever built. With the recent celebration of its 50th Anniversary, you can bet Mustangs are one of the most sought after Classic Muscle Cars on the market today. This '70 Mach 1 has undergone a fresh, complete Rotisserie Restoration. The previous owner of this Mustang bought the car completely done. He was very meticulous and felt the restoration was not up to his standards. He wanted a perfect car, so he decided to plunge in and Rotisserie Restore the car from ground up. Once the work started, no expense was spared. The car was completely dismantled, right down to the bare body shell with fenders off, glass removed, etc., and all parts from inside to outside were either completely stripped and refinished or replaced with new parts. The Engine and Transmission were professionally rebuilt. During the dismantling process this Mach 1 was found to be solid as a rock with no evidence of rust or body-filler to be found when it was stripped to bare metal and primed with epoxy primer. The driver door was found to have been damaged and then repaired poorly so it was replaced with a used FoMoCo door (not aftermarket). The entire body shell was painstakingly stripped, cleaned, seam-filled and refinished inside and out while it was on a rotisserie. It was painted while disassembled and carefully reassembled so as to show proper door, hood and trunk deck gaps. All of the suspension parts were stripped and refinished or replaced with new. The car was completely rewired with a complete and professional Painless wiring harness. All of the bright-work was buffed and polished or replaced with brand new parts. NPD provided all new interior parts, which were correct grain, etc. for the Mach I, and were installed by Classic Mustang Interiors. Some say it's over-kill, but the engine compartment was painted in the Viper Red body color to really set-off the monster 428 Cobra Jet engine that lives under the hood, and it turned out beautifully. The engine is equipped with a "shaker" intake system normally found on only the R-Code Mustang Mach 1's and seems to be comprised of Ford parts rather than aftermarket parts. All the horsepower and torque from the 428CJ gets fed through a bulletproof C6 Automatic Transmission and put to the ground by a Ford 9" Rear End. This Mach 1 is guaranteed to steal looks and trophies. It was entered in a Car Show with 400 cars and won First Place for Best Ford Muscle Car. This Mustang Mach 1 comes with a Deluxe Marti report along with the original invoice! This Ford Mustang is a true street beast, yet is also mild enough to take on a Sunday cruise or go to a car show, and it WILL win trophies. Over $112,000 was spent building this gorgeous Mach 1!
