Description

Professionally Built, Award Winning Truck! $200k Build! GM 454V8, TH400, A/C!

1956 GMC Custom Pickup

VIN 1018PX4925

This gorgeous custom truck was professionally built by Enterline Auto Supply in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. No expense was spared on this build. It was completed in the fall of 2006. Since then it has been driven less than 250 miles (mainly from the enclosed trailer to the car show and back to the trailer) though it has been on the street more than once and stops traffic! It has been stored in a climate controlled garage since its completion.

This truck is a multiple award winner including Darryl Starbird's $5,000 “Go for the Gold” cash award for most outstanding vehicle shown for the first time!

History

The Suburban was GMC's version of the Chevrolet Cameo pickup. It was first known as the "Town and Country". Styling was virtually unchanged from 1955 and featured sleek sides, unique tail lights and a panoramic windshield. The truck featured fiberglass fenders attached to a steel cargo box with a hidden spare tire compartment. The suburban was fully optioned with the Deluxe Cab, chrome bumpers and grille, WSW tires, V8 engine and 4- speed Hydra-Matic transmission. GMC produced the Suburban from 1955 through 1957 and total production was close to 1,000 units.
