It's summertime, which means you may be taking your classic car for rides more often. With classic cars, appearance plays a major role– so how can you get your car to shine brighter than everyone else's? Choosing a good wax can help!
There are lots of car waxes, but there are really only two kinds. There is car wax made of Carnauba, a plant, or there is synthetic car wax. Carnauba makes a great shine and is environmentally friendly. It is harder to apply though, and does not last very long. Synthetic wax is artificial, but is easy to apply and lasts a long time. You may only have to apply synthetic wax once per year. Synthetic waxes offer the best shine, and you get the best protection from carnauba based wax.
It is possible to use both at the same time, but it would be a hassle to have to wax your car twice. Some companies are starting to make waxes that make use of both and that is often effective.
Meguiars Gold Class Carnauba Plus paste wax is the best thing out there. It is carnauba based, but adds some polymer blends to make it shine more and last longer. It attempts to be the best of both worlds as it adds just a bit of synthetic blend to the mix.
Meguiars is known for having great wax and it also sells it at a reasonable price. It has the reputation, and this particular version of their wax gives you the balance you need between carnauba and synthetic waxes. This is also a paste wax, which is a bit harder to apply, but lasts much longer than liquid waxes. This wax also comes with an applicator pad and a microfiber towel that you can use for removing the wax and buffing, to get all the shine you can.
